SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a topic that can baffle even seasoned marketers.

The art and science of SEO is about getting search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, ASK and others to find your site and to share it with people who are searching for it.

In this session we cover the things that you can do for free to help share your site with others. We will also look at what needs to happen on your website to make it so that search engines can find and read it.

This class is an intermediate session designed for individuals who are working on a website. You will get the most out of this class if you are able to make changes to your existing website or are contemplating getting a new one.

Some of the specific topics we will cover:

  • Anatomy of an SEO friendly website
  • Sitemaps
  • Google webmaster tools
  • Blogs
  • Directory listings
  • Link building and sharing
  • Myths and facts

Fee: $10 for nonprofit staff and volunteers
