CiviCRM is a free, web-based software geared toward meeting the needs of non-profit and other civic-sector organizations. It allows you to manage your contacts, memberships, events, fundraising, communications, online forms, volunteers and many other aspects of operating your non-profit organization. It is used by thousands of organizations worldwide, is developed by a thriving community of volunteers, and is made available free of charge as an open source software.

This course will provide an overview of the main features of the software, with a focus on practical examples and hands-on time. It will go over:

  • Contact Management, including customized data,
  • Communications, including email campaigns,
  • Membership Management, including online sign-up and renewals,
  • Event Management, including online registration forms,
  • Financial Management, including online contributions,
  • Reporting on all the above domains.

Ample time will be dedicated to live demonstrations and concrete usage examples. Participants will also have hands-on time with the software through short exercises. Finally, best practices for implementing this software in your organization will be discussed.

This class is aimed at non-profit organization administrators. No particular technical background is required to attend this class. The class is delivered in a very interactive style and participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences.

Fee: $10 for nonprofit staff and volunteers
