Introduction to HTML
Submitted by Andy
Where: CPCD
When:
09/25/2008 - 1:00pm - 09/25/2008 - 3:00pm
This class has been canceled due to a lack of sign-ups.
This is an introductory class meant to introduce the concepts and semantics of HTML. It is aimed at beginners.
This class will not make you an expert, but hopefully you will take away some solid basics.
We will cover:
- What HTML is and how it works
- How to write basic pages by hand, including
- Page headers, body
- Text formatting, links, images
- Lists and tables (as time permits)
- The role of editors like Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Komposer, etc.
By the end of the class you will (hopefully):
- Build simple pages by hand
- Make some sense of what Dreamweaver (etc.) generates
- Have a basis for learning more about creating webpages
And as always, T4T courses are only $10 for employees of nonprofit organizations!

Cancellation
I'm sorry this class has been cancelled due to people like me who register too late. I'm wondering if T4T has contacted the Colorado Springs Center for Non-Profit Excellence to see if T4T could get the word out city-wide to non-profits?
It might be a good starting point to building your email base in Colorado Springs if you haven't already made this contact.
Also, you may consider contacting Deborah Thornton, Executive Director of Imagination Celebration to see if she can spread the "T4T" word to her Leadership Council comprised of more than 50 non-profit organizations.
Also, try contacting Warren Epstein, Entertainment & Arts Editor at The Gazette Newspaper to see if he can distribute T4T info in the paper and with "Dream City 2020" a diverse cross-section of educators, arts, government and business representatives working to develop viable visions for Colorado Springs in the year 2020.
Also try to contact Bettina Swigger, executive Director of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR).
Also try Susan Saksa, executive Director of Leadership Pikes Peak.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Class Cancellation
Good afternoon, Mary Beth,
I'm sorry we had to cancel tomorrow's Intro. HTML class. We do try to avoid cancellations, but two days before each class we check to see if the class will run so we can give fair notice to both the lab and the instructor. In this case, nobody at all had signed up when we did our 48-hour checkup, so we had to cancel it.
Thank you for expressing your interest; it is very nice to hear that people are looking into our classes! I am passing all your contact suggestions along to Andy, our program director who handles most of the outreach and marketing.
Brian
