Content Management Systems were all the rage at the 2007 NTEN conference and a frequent topic of nonprofit technology articles and seminars from TechSoup and Idealware and the like.

Workshop: Intro to HTML

This is an introductory class meant to introduce the concepts and semantics of HTML. It is aimed at beginners. This class will not make you an expert, but hopefully you will take away some solid basics.

We will cover:

  • What HTML is and how it works
  • How to write basic pages
  • The role of editors like Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Nvu, GoLive, etc.

By the end of the class you will (hopefully):

  1. Build a simple site by hand
  2. Make some sense of what Dreamweaver (etc.) generates

Workshop: Intro to PowerPoint

Workshop: Office Tips and Tricks

This class will benefit beginner and intermediate Office users alike!

Whether you are a regular user or relatively new to Microsoft Office, you will gain new tips on increasing your productivity with MS Office. This workshop focuses on techniques that work throughout the MS Office suite -- and even in other Windows applications. Such techniques may include: compiling resources from multiple applications in a Word document, and quickly turning Word documents into PowerPoint presentations. Course content will be customized to fit the group.
