Emily Says Thanks, T4T!

I hate to say goodbye – it’s the honest truth. So, instead of simply announcing my departure from Teaming for Technology (I will be starting graduate school in August) and bidding you farewell, I would like to take a moment of your time to recognize some of T4T’s accomplishments and thank those who have helped to make this year such a success.

From increased class offerings to special projects completed throughout the state, T4T made great strides in achieving our mission this year; we have helped more than 200 Colorado nonprofits get more out of their technology.

Our program would not exist without the financial and in-kind support from IBM and Mile High United Way, and our classes would be held in the park (sans computer) if it weren’t for the generosity of our computer lab partners: The Bridge Project, Community Partnership for Child Development, Family Learning Center, Pikes Peak United Way, Urban League of Pikes Peak Region and YWCA of Boulder County.

Training partnerships with the Front Range Community College and Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design saved nonprofit employees hundreds of dollars on their technology training courses running the gamut from Adobe Photoshop to MS Word.

Like so many of the nonprofits we serve, our volunteers are our lifeblood. I cannot thank our volunteer team enough for the countless hours each person put into preparing and teaching lessons, in addition to working on special projects assisting nonprofits across Colorado.

And last, but certainly not least, T4T would never have been able to launch our first e-commerce-enabled site without the technical genius of T4T Technology Manager Brian Choc, nor fill over 50 training courses without the social marketing skills of Colorado Springs Program Coordinator Lisa Schulz. Way to go, team!

I feel honored and humbled to have been a part of this program for two years, both as an AmeriCorps*VISTA and as program director. I have enjoyed being an active part of the nonprofit community and getting to work with so many talented and passionate individuals. I thank you for this opportunity.

Former T4T VISTA, Andy Lubansky, will be taking over the reigns on July 30th. I am confident that Andy and Brian will continue to improve T4T’s service offerings and extend our community involvement. Please join me in welcoming Andy back to the nonprofit technology community.

In service,

Emily
