Hey, you should really think about volunteering with T4T.
For those of you that have attended a course or two with us at T4T, you’ve hopefully noticed that the majority of our instructors are volunteers. Sure, some of them may be software or tech experts, but many of them aren’t. They’re just regular people that happen to know a topic well enough to share their knowledge and skills with local nonprofit staff members. Does that describe you? Then I hope you’d consider donating a few hours of your time as a volunteer course instructor.
Volunteer Instructor Requirements:
- Sufficiency in the topic you’d like to teach (see, that doesn’t say expertise, just sufficiency!)
- Feel comfortable leading a class of 5 to 15 participants
Our classes take place in Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs. They can be set in a computer lab or a conference room. Many instructors prefer to develop their own curriculum and others prefer to deliver content that has already been developed. See, if you haven’t caught on yet, we’re fairly easy-going here at T4T. We recognize that you’re donating your time, so we want to make the experience positive for everyone involved.
Class topics? We’re up for trying just about anything tech-related. Traditional topics like Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML are always great, but so are topics like Facebook, Twitter, Drupal, and GIMP. And we're always open to suggestions.
If you’ve read this far, I’m guessing you’re semi-interested in giving volunteering a shot. The next step is easy: Email me and let’s chat. Heck, the worst thing that happens is you find out that it’s not up your alley. And that’s just fine. We appreciate the interest.
