Denver lost more than the World Series to Boston last week when Mile High United Way President and CEO Mike Durkin announced he will step down later this year to become President of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

"Like everyone else in the Denver area, I was sad to hear about the impending departure of Mike Durkin from Mile High United Way," said Ray Johnson, IBM Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs Manager. "Denver's loss is certainly Boston's gain. Durkin has been a tremendous and well-respected leader in the Denver area, and before that he spent many years leading the United Way in Boulder as well."

Johnson also pointed out that Durkin was instrumental in launching Teaming for Technology ten years ago. "Without his support and the partnership IBM forged with Mile High United Way, T4T would not have been successful. Luckily, [Durkin] had the foresight to recognize the value T4T could bring to help numerous nonprofits become more effective through the use of technology -- and for his support, T4T, area agencies, and our community owe him a great deal of gratitude."
