T4T Website: Less Hassle, Less Spam
Greetings!
The holiday season is upon us and at T4T we know that you have lots to remember and lots to get done, so we are doing our part to help streamline your schedule. We have redesigned our website, so that you no longer need to register with a username and password in order to post or reply to a comment or sign up for a class. Although nonprofit organizations still need to register with T4T to receive all of our services (like TechLaunch and partner discounts), if you want to take one of our classes, you only need to enter your name, phone number, and email address, in addition to filling out a CAPTCHA.
A what? A CAPTCHA is an automated program used by many websites to prevent spam. You have probably used a CAPTCHA when making an online purchase or submitting information to a specific site; CAPTCHAs look like distorted text or numbers that you have to type in correctly. T4T has chosen to use reCAPTCHA, a Carnegie Mellon University project that "improves the process of digitizing books by sending words that cannot be read by computers to the Web in the form of CAPTCHAs for humans to decipher." Each time you type in the two words in the CAPTCHA on our site, you are helping digitize a book from the Internet Archive. Learn more about reCAPTCHA online.
Happy holidays, from all of us at T4T.
