Guidelines

This application will be used to select approximately 12 organizations to move on to the next stage in the selection process. With an average of over sixty applicants each year, we are looking for organizations that really stand out. These tips should help you to best represent your organization’s needs through the TechLaunch application.

• Be familiar with the TechLaunch grant. Only desktop computers, laptops, and laser printers are available through the grant. We are unable to fulfill requests for software, other types of hardware (including servers), or services such as Internet access.
• Be thorough. While it is not necessary that we have every detail from your day-to-day operations, you will want to be sure that you convey the basic nature of your request. This should include a description of your current technology situation, what you hope to receive through the TechLaunch grant, and how you feel your organization will benefit. If you are requesting computers for multiple purposes, be sure to clearly indicate the order of importance.
• Be professional. We all make the occasional spelling or grammatical mistake, but the use of incomplete sentences or lack of proper capitalization makes an application difficult to read and reflects poorly on that organization.

Instructions

To simplify the process, we have broken the application down into easy steps. By reading this instruction page you have already completed the first step. Congratulations!

1. Read the directions. (You are here)
2. Log in. If you haven't already, you will create a personal username/password which will allow you to come back and continue the application whenever you want.
3. Fill out the application, which covers general facts about your organization such as address, phone number, etc., and questions about how your organization uses technology and how TechLaunch will assist with your mission. Take your time and think about your answers ... remember you can always save and come back later if you need more time.
4. Log out! If you're done, great. If you want to come back later, you may make changes as often as you like until the application deadline (April 15th). At that time all applications will be closed and evaluation will begin. You do not have to worry about returning to make a final, official-type submission.
