World Community Grid Turns 100,000

The World Community Grid announced, this past weekend, that two important milestones have been reached.

First, the Fiocruz Genome Comparison project, begun on November 16th, 2006, has been completed. You can read about the FGC and where it goes from here at the FGC project website.

Second, the world-wide community of World Community Grid volunteers has surpassed 100,000 years of run time! "Because of [members'] contributions, results on critical health issues have already been achieved, demonstrating World Community Grid's potential to make significant inroads on a great range of future projects that can benefit the world," announced IBM, Monday.

(By the way, the T4T Colorado Team is proud to have contributed almost two years to Grid projects!)
